If the customer’s lift is lowering when the lowering valve is not being pressed and the lift has been inspected with no leaks in the hydraulic system. Then one of the three following issues is happening:

  1. Lowering valve:

Remove Reservoir cap. Look into the reservoir while the lift is lowing by itself. If fluid is pouring back into the tank from the top, then the lowering valve is the issue.

Possible Fix- Hold the lowering valve down and run the motor for five full seconds. Then wait 10 before repeating. Do this 4 more times. If there was an obstruction holding the valve open then this may free it and fix the issue.

If this does not work, the next step would be to remove the lowering valve and soak it in alcohol. Then use an air gun to blast out anything that maybe stuck in the mesh while you press its button. Reinstall the lowering valve and test.

Send replacement lowering valve if these suggestions do not work.

  • You must Record the Date code and S/N off of the power unit for warranty replacement.

2. Check valve:

Raise the lift up. When you let go of the power button you will hear a winding noise. This is the motor moving in reverse because the check valve is not holding back the fluid. You will not be able to see the fluid run back into the reservoir. The fluid will return back to the tank through the pickup tube.

Swap out the power unit for a new one through the vender if under warranty.

  • You must Record the Date code and S/N off of the power unit for warranty replacement.

3. PRV (Pressure Relief Valve):

NOTE: Confirm that the issue is not the Lowering Valve or the Check Valve before testing for the PRV.

Dead head the cylinder (raise the lift to its max height). If the PRV is working you will hear the motor sound change when the lift raises to its max height. It will change from its regular running sound to a more high pitched running noise.

If the lift is maxed out but the motor sound never changes it’s because the PRV was already stuck open.

Swap out the power unit for a new one through the vender if under warranty.
