MAXJAX COMPLAINT:

The Arms on one side of the Lift rise higher than the Arms on the other side of the Lift.

CLARIFY THE COMPLIANT:

What is the difference in height of the two arms?

Raise the lift to the full height and then use a tape measure to measure the distance from the top of the Base Plate to the bottom of the Lift Head (where the Arms are attached) on both Lift Posts.  Compare the heights.  A difference in height of one inch or less is normal.  If the difference in height is more than one inch then use the procedure below to identify the source of the complaint.

STEP 1

LUBRICATE THE INSIDE OF THE POST

Confirm that there is lubrication inside the Post Weldment.  If there is no lubrication inside the Post Weldment, apply lubrication to the inside of the Post Weldment using the procedure described in the product manual.

Fully raise and lower the Lift.

If no improvement go to STEP 2

STEP 2

BLEED AIR FROM THE CYLINDERS

Bleed any air out of the Cylinders using the procedure described in the Product Manual.

Fully raise and lower the Lift.

If no improvement go to STEP 3

STEP 3

REVERSE THE POSITION OF THE HOSES

Remove the Hydraulic Hoses from the Posts.  Attach the Hydraulic Hose that was on the Left Post to the Right Post.  Attach the Hydraulic Hose that was on the Right Post to the Left Post.

Fully raise and lower the Lift.

If the same side of the Lift does not rise as high then the problem is likely in the Fitting or Hydraulic Cylinder on the side of the Lift that does not rise as high.

Go to STEP 4

If the opposite side of the Lift does not rise as high then the problem is likely in the Hydraulic Hoses or Fittings attached to the Post where the Arms now do not rise as high.

Go to STEP 5

STEP 4

LOOK FOR OBSTRUCTIONS RELATED TO THE HYDRAULIC CYLINDER

Remove the Fitting from the Hydraulic Cylinder on the Lift Post that is performing poorly and confirm that there are no obstructions inside the fitting.  Confirm that there are no obstructions inside the inlet to the Hydraulic Cylinder.

If there are obstructions

Go to STEP 6

If there are no obstructions

Go to STEP 7

STEP 5

CLEAR ANY OBSTRUCTIONS RELATED TO THE HOSES AND FITTINGS

Remove the Hydraulic Hose and fittings from the Lift on the side that does not rise as high.  Check each of the Fittings for obstructions.  Check the Hydraulic Hose for obstructions.    After clearing any obstructions from the Fittings and the Hydraulic Hoses, reassemble the Lift.

Fully raise and lower the Lift

If no improvement go to STEP 8

STEP 6

CLEAR ANY OBSTRUCTIONS RELATED TO THE HYDRAULIC CYLINDER

If there are obstructions inside the Fitting or inside the inlet to the Hydraulic Cylinder, clear the obstructions, reassemble the Fitting to the Hydraulic Cylinder and reattach the Hydraulic Hose to the Fitting.

Fully raise and lower the Lift

If no improvement go to STEP 9

STEP 7

REASSEMBLE HYDRAULIC CYLINDER TO FITTINGS AND HOSES

If there are no obstructions inside the Fitting or the inlet to the Hydraulic Cylinder, reassemble the Fitting to the Hydraulic Cylinder and reattach the Hydraulic Hose to the Fitting.
